| Description of course:Everyday art will focus on exploring the world of art using many mediums. We will discover different kinds of paints and what techniques can be used to get different effects. Mediums used will include: clay, chalk pastels, charcoal, and pencil. All students will get to learn about these mediums and how they are used. The class will also do some recycle or nature work as well as we work with items from our everyday life to create beautiful pieces of work. Each student will work at their own pace in our non-judge mental classroom as bashing other’s works in any way shape or form is not acceptable. There is no “wrong” art , nor is there “ugly” or “stupid” art either. “I can’t do that” isn’t an option either. I will show them how to break down a picture into objects so they don’t get so overwhelmed at the sight of the final project from the very beginning. Small steps that everyone can do! Each project is adaptable to each student on their own level. I will require that all students have at least 1 DRAWING pencil I recomend the softest one they have b/c it’s much easier for them to learn shading with these types. In addition, all students will need a sketch book, a kneadable eraser, a gum eraser and a pencil sharpener! And I would recommend an art smock or large shirt to use on messy days! We WILL get messy! However, as humans we are washable! |
